I can’t figure out how to make the tentacles curl one way one on side and the other way on the other. Ugh. It always wants to go the same direction.
The person who made the hat I’m basing mine off of managed it, so I’m sure there’s a way and I just need to find it.
This is how I made the blanket for my boyfriend’s mom! I couldn’t get a good photo of the finished project, though. Booooo! And of course I deleted the pic below from my phone after posting to Instagram, lol.
I have no photos right now, largely because I’m drinking and watching Penny Dreadful with a cat on my lap. The big red blanket is done, the maiden aunt scarf is done, the angel for grandma is done, and we got the sister a super cute pajama onesie in mid-October.
Sean gets to handle the menfolk. Which is why we are totally unprepared for them.
I’m planning to spend much of the afternoon/evening with a friend and have been trying to make her a scarf, but my cat is an asshole so it’s not been a productive evening, lol. Hopefully I’ll have good updates before Christmas Day.
I’m making Christmas gifts, still. The red blanket needs me to go buy more yarn (and it’s almost as bright as that photo, but my boyfriend assures me it’s his mom’s favorite color) and the scarf is for his aunt. Who is super religious. His maiden aunt. Very religious and never married kind of maiden aunt. So it makes it funnier to work on it while watching two dudes make out.
Gotta admit, though… I messed up some stitches while I was paying more attention to Netflix than the scarf.
She won’t let me finish this present for my boyfriend’s mom. Cats are jerks.
I learned to knit when I was 12. My brother taught me. (His bestie’s mom taught him.) 25 years later I’m finally getting around to learning to purl.
Look out world! I can do ribbing now!
I need to go get appropriate yarn to use for the underside of the tentacles on the octopus hat. But in the meantime, here’s a video showing the stitch I plan to use. I think the bobbles will make perfect suckers, don’t you?
